 What is i-Size?

Designed to enhance the level of safety for children travelling by car, the i-Size (ECE R129) regulation recommends rearward facing travel for babies until they are at least 15 months old.
When children are ready to move up to the next stage car seat, this will be determined by the height (cm) rather than by weight groupings (ECE R44/04 regulations).

Both the R129 and R44/04 regulations will run alongside one another until i-Size becomes the standard of safety. The introduction of i-Size simply means that you now have an extra option when buying a car seat for your baby/toddler – an option that complies to the newest safety regulation.

 Why choose i-Size?

i-Size features improved protection at higher forces for both side and front impact, as well as much better protection of your child’s head, due to the rearward facing travel for children up to 15 months.
When your baby travels facing rearwards, the protective shell cushions the head and absorbs the force of impacts more evenly, as they are spread over a greater area of the back; the vulnerable neck area is kept in-line with the spine, reducing the risk of injury.

i-Size car seats also use ISOFIX connectors, meaning that they are less likely to be fitted incorrectly; they will also fit most cars with ISOFIX anchor points.
