Isofix Base for the Be-Cool Zero Infant Car Seat (Originally known as "Koos Platform")
The Zero Platform is an accessory that has been specially designed to make it easier to install the Be Cool ZERO infant car seat in the car. It installs using the Isofix points in your car for optimum safety and speedy attachment, and has passed the strict safety tests of European Standard ECE R44/04 semi-universal category.
Its new and unique fastening system, using the PROFIX system (patented) lets you install and remove the infant car seat with just one movement and in a few seconds. Being quick and easy means less time in the rain when taking baby in and out of the car on those cold windy rainy days.
Its anti-rotation system with stabilizer; height adjustable support leg ensures the base is sturdy and level when installed.
Also on the Platform is a special barcode, known as a QR (Quick Response) code. When scanned with a smart phone, these codes will reveal extra information about the seat, including a video fitting guide.
Please Note:
The Be Cool ZERO infant car seat was originally know as the KOOS infant car seat from Jané. Therefore if you have an older KOOS infant car seat, this ZERO PLATFORM is compatible. However; please note that the new iSize version of the Koos car seat is not compatible with this Zero platform. The Koos iSize car seat is only compatible with the Jané iPlatform iSize base.

This should be a must have if you have the matching car seat! It makes it fit rock solid, which is more reassuring than without it. Thank you very much Samuel Johnston - I will be back as a very happy customer!
Service from Samuel Johnston was excellent but found this platform difficult to install in the car. In particular, it was difficult to get the anti rotation leg to settle in a position in which the green indicator came on. I bought the platform for extra peace of mind that the seat would be securely fitted but unfortunately I'm not entirely convinced. I was tempted to abandon it and use the seatbelt installation instead. Perhaps it depends on the model of car. I ordered before the new 2015 model was available, it seems, so maybe it is indeed improved. Overall, wouldn't hesitate to order from Samuel Johnston again but slightly disappointed with the product.
Just watched a video of the koos isofix base...
Do you have to adjust the base (i.e. slide it away from the seat slightly) before you can remove the carseat?
And can you release the carseat with one hand, or does it need two?
Also, do you have to position the carseat handle so it is pointing towards the back of the seat?
Samuel Johnston Replies:
Hi Maryanne,
Answer is no. No you don't need to adjust/slide outwards the base outwards every time you removed the car seat, you only do this when you wish to removed the complete car seat base from the car, maybe for putting it in another car for example.
To take the car seat off the platform in the car you really need both hands, one on either side of the handle, to release and also lift it off the base.
And for your third question, the answer is yes. When the handle is pointing towards the back of the seat, is called the Anti Rotational device, which simply means it acts like a shield / roll bar rather than do nothing in the car. So its actually an extra safety feature when in this position.
Hope this helps. Regards SJ

AndreaItaly asks
Hi, will this base fit the rebel pro seat also from Jane? If not, which isofix base should I use?
Samuel Johnston Replies:
Good morning Andrea,
Thanks for getting in touch, hopefully I can help!
The Koos Platform is ONLY designed to be used with the Koos car seat Andrea, so unfortunately it wont actually fit your Rebel Pro. Car seat tests are so stringent that most manufacturers will make a base specifically for each car seat to ensure maximum safety and a perfect fit.
There isnt actually any base on the market which will fit the Rebel Pro, not by Jane or any other universal manufacturer either im afraid. You will only be able to fit the Rebel Pro using the cars own seat belts.
There are bases available for the Koos, Strata and Matrix Light II seats - all of which will fit directly onto your pushchair if you have a Rebel "PRO" ?
I dont want to suggest having to purchase a new car seat, but the Koos was designed by Jane to replace the Rebel Pro. The Koos will be a direct replacement so you would only have to change that one part, and then you could order the Koos base if you wished? Its only a suggestion Andrea, as sadly there isnt currently any base for the Rebel Pro and there are no plans to make on in the future.
I hope thats been some help Andrea,
Kind Regards,
Samuel Johnston Ltd.
