The i-Base Encore is designed to be one base within the Joie Encore Spinning System. Here is what that means in plain English, and which current Joie seats on site work with it.
What does the i-Base Encore do?
The Joie i-Base Encore is an ISOFIX base with an energy-absorbing load leg and installation indicators. The useful bit for day-to-day life is the rotation: compatible infant carriers swivel 90° towards the car door, while compatible toddler seats can use the base’s full 360° spin.
Important distinction
A 90° swivel is not the same as a full 360° spin. For newborn carriers, the i-Base Encore gives easier door-side access; 360° rotation applies to compatible next-stage toddler seats.
Which current Joie seats on site fit the i-Base Encore?

Which seat should you choose?
Choose the i-Snug 2 if a very light infant carrier is the priority. It is rated from birth to 75cm and weighs 3.35kg, making quick car-to-pushchair transfers easier.
Choose the i-Level Pro if you want the option of its near-flat 157° recline. It is rearward-facing from 40–87cm and can be installed with the i-Base Encore or a vehicle seat belt, according to its product page.
Can I use one base for the next stage?
That is the main attraction of the Encore system. Once your child moves on from an infant carrier, the i-Base Encore can be used with compatible Joie toddler seats rather than starting again with a different base. Check the individual seat’s height range and compatibility before making that next purchase.
