I love this car seat! We had to do a lot of approx 4hr journeys soon after my daughter was born and she was able to lie flat comfortably for the whole journey, only stopping for feeding. She lay flat only until 3 months and now prefers to sit up, although, with the rotating isofix base, it is very easy to lie her down if she falls asleep without waking her up.
It is quite a heavy car seat but is so easy to fix on to my trider base that it isn't a problem and you can transfer from car to wheels without waking - no need to transfer to pram or bed as she is already lying flat. This is so much better for her lung and spine development.
We have used it, when away, as a moses basket (with the mattress) and she still fits in at 4 months (just!).
I can't recommend this enough! I would strongly advise getting it with the isofix base though as it is a bit fiddly to get in the car without it and the rotating base is one of the best things!!
It is an expensive car seat but you don't need to buy a separate pram as this does both.

I don't usually write reviews but i just have to let other mothers especially new one's know. Had opted initially for another top branded pram but when i happened to come across The Jané trider i was just taken aback by the great features and not to mention the latest in the market it has to offer. It has safety and comfort for my little one. I was never keen with car seats and just cannot do much when my baby needs to go in one when we go travel as he always looks uncomfortable and makes me worry with his breathing but now i do not have to worry anymore as he is happier than ever when we are in the car or out and about as the car seat itself can be used as cot and he can lie down as well and now we can go for long travel with confidence that he is very comfortable. The shock absorbing feature of the chassis is just amazing as my baby inside the cot is feeling less bumps and banging whatever the terrain is. Thank Jané.xxx

I have this car seat for my son and can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever bought! Made life so much easier and knowing they can lie down whilst doing the school runs instead of been stuck in the standard car seats is such a relief. Too many people use car seats as a pushchair for their babies and don't know the risks it does to the spine and hips and also the risk of their breathing. I think all babies car seats should be made like this as standard.

We have just purchased the jane trider matrix in teal from Samuel Johnston we haven't had chance to try it out properly yet as our baby isn't due for a couple months but we have spent ages looking through other web sites to try and find this model at the lowest price as we fell in love with it as soon as we saw it but it's a very expensive pushchair . We found it slightly cheaper on eBay and emailed Samuel Johnston asking about their price match within the hour they had responded with not only a price match but £10 cheaper . We decided to buy it there and then. It arrived in 2 days by courier and it's amazing we are sooo happy with it , the quality is of the highest standard it looks beautiful and comes with the isofix base which rotates.
If there's any downfalls with it at all it's a bit heavier than other pushchairs and isofix bases but this is purely due to the quality and sturdiness of the item the wheels are huge and the frame is so strong and sturdy so it's ideal for outdoorsy people or rural living.
Like I say we are so happy with it and would recommend it as a high quality , great looking pushchair we can't wait to use it
Samuel Johnston are an excellent site and we would recommend them to anyone 👍👍👍

I have to say when i saw this online i did fall for it, and may have totured the poor wife about it untill she finally gave in! It just looks so much more modern and "hi-tech" than the prams you see about now.
The real working suspensing and sleek lines make this really stand out. When ours arrived the finish and build didnt disappoint, this really is the ticket. Jane really nailed it with this one. definately recommend.

I bought this travel system without seeing it in 'real life' and knew I was taking a risk buying one without testing it first but I must say I'm very happy with it so far! Baby is due end of Feb so hasn't been used to full potential yet, but it was easy to assemble the chassis. The profix system is dead easy to use when attaching the carrycot/ car seat, and although I spent some time getting to grips with the matrix 2 car seat, once I had it all seemed very straight forward. The lie-flat car seat was what sold it to me and although it is heavier and bulkier than standard infant car seats, the versatility of being able to use it flat is what will be most useful to me when making frequent long journeys to visit family.

I was also really impressed with the quality of the upholstery on the buggy bit and matrix 2, it seems really well crafted. The brake is super simple to use and the wheels & suspension give a really smooth ride and make it very easy to manoeuvre. I'd done a lot of online research to find the right 3 wheeler travel system for me, it needed to be one that could be used all-terrain and although there aren't a great deal of reviews on this travel system, I'm glad I chose it. Like I said earlier, the true test will come when the baby arrives and we start using it properly, but from first impressions this seems like a very well constructed travel system.

Matrix car seat is great as gives peace of mind baby can lie flat. Great if they fall asleep and you need to move them, they can stay in it as it doesn't have the 2 hour time limit with most car seats. It is however heavy. Chassis is great, very sturdy, great for all terrain. Like the fact that brake on the handle bar. Puncture proof tires are brilliant. It is however very heavy, back tires very wide apart hard to get through some doorways. The buggy seat is ok - main drawback it doesn't recline flat so can't be used until 6 months Still a great pushchair.

Overall I am really pleased with this travel system but there are some faults with it. Firstly, the zip on hood for the car seat-this is really tricky to zip on and both of mine broke so i had to get new ones. Secondly, the car seat is soooo heavy to carry around-its impossible to carry around but as a car seat it is pretty amazing, however again the plastic covers on this broke within a few weeks. Thirdly, the hood on the pushchair, this is mis-shaped and really needs replacing. Apart from these issues i really like the pram and thoroughly enjoy pushing my gorgeous little boy around in it.
