Three Double Pushchair Buying Tips
Blog
Three things to look out for when buying a side-by-side double buggy for a baby and a toddler
It can be tough to find an impressive double buggy; one that fits around your busy lifestyle and meets all the needs of a baby and toddler. Whether you are buying your pram online or instore, here are some things you should think about before you make your purchase.
Size and Weight
Consider your lifestyle. If you are the sort of family that likes to visit museums, shops etc you will want to factor in the size, weight and, most importantly the width of your buggy. You will want to be able to get through doors without any issues. The new Twinlink from JANE is only 75cm wide and the Out n About Nipper V4 is only 72 cm.
Also consider the buggy’s size when it folded. It sounds basic, but make sure your boot is big enough. It is great if you can purchase a double that allows you to pop off the wheels easily just in case you need it to be a little bit more compact.
Suspension
Suspension is also an important factor for ensuring your children are comfortable when you are on rougher terrain. Good suspension will also improve manoeuvrability, and check if you can lock and unlock the front wheels.
The Little Details
Consider a few other details before you make your purchase.
Make sure you are happy with the harness and that it is super safe and easy to use.
Ask if your buggy comes with a rain cover.
Quick release wheels as mentioned above in case you need to transport it in a car with a small boot.
Does it have an adjustable footrest for extra comfort?
Does it have a bumper bar for extra protection?
Look for a quality adjustable handlebar that feels good and won’t wear out quickly.
And make sure that there is a good-sized basket for all those essentials.
